Kirsten Chambers-Taylor

Partner · Boston

“Twenty-four years opening American doors for British companies taught me one thing above all: the door is never the market. What happens in the ninety days after the introduction is where companies win or quietly disappear.”

Kirsten served with the UK Department for Business and Trade in Boston from 2000 to 2024 — twenty-four years leading a cross-sector business development team, advising successive British Consuls General, and building one of the deepest institutional networks any trade professional holds in New England.

How Kirsten works with clients

The choreography of putting the right people in the right room — a craft, not an accident.

Her record spans the full machinery of cross-border commerce: international lead generation, delivery of foreign direct investment by high-growth companies, market-entry implementation for exporters, and the design and delivery of UK ministerial and VIP visits and dozens of business delegations. On DBT’s US management team she led on wellbeing, learning and development across the North America network — the culture-building work that high-performing organisations treat as infrastructure.

Where Kirsten meets the three client situations

Already here · entering for the first time · returning — twenty-four years of casework applied.

Already in the US — and more to reach. Foreign direct investment work is, at its core, companies that landed and then had to grow — and Kirsten delivered FDI by high-growth companies for over two decades. She has walked expansions as long as entries: the established UK operation in New England whose next customer, next facility, or next institutional relationship was sitting unclaimed until someone who knew the terrain pointed at it.

Entering for the first time. Twenty-four years of putting British companies into American rooms — delegations designed, introductions curated, ministers and executives choreographed into the meetings that mattered — makes first entry her native ground. She knows what the ninety days after the introduction must contain, because she has watched what happens when they contain nothing.

Returning after a difficult first attempt. Two decades of casework means Kirsten has seen every way a first attempt goes sideways — the wrong region, the wrong channel, the wrong read on how American institutions decide — and that the pattern is almost always approach, not product. A returning company gets the benefit of that entire catalogue of prevented repeats.

Beyond the work

A live bridge to Australia and New Zealand.

Originally from New Zealand, Kirsten lived and worked in the UK and France before settling in the Boston area. For this firm that origin is not a footnote: it is a live bridge to the Australia–New Zealand flow of companies the wider Traksjon partnership serves, carried by someone who has crossed that distance herself.
